They’re a non-surgical way to achieve a refreshed and defined look.

The results of dermal fillers generally last between 6 to 18 months, depending on factors such as the type of filler used, the treated area, and individual metabolism. For areas like the jawline or chin, where there is less movement, results often last closer to the 12-18 month range, while fillers in high-movement areas like the cheeks may require touch-ups sooner.

Dermal filler treatments are typically very comfortable, as most fillers contain a built-in numbing agent (lidocaine), and a topical numbing cream is often applied beforehand to further reduce any discomfort. While you may experience mild pressure or a slight pinch during the injection, the procedure is usually quick and easily tolerated. Interestingly, facial fillers—such as those used in the cheeks, jawline, or chin—are generally more comfortable than lip fillers. Most clients describe the sensation as a slight scratch and gentle pressure, making the experience smooth and manageable.

Side effects are usually mild and temporary, including swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness at the injection site. Some people may experience slight firmness or lumps, which typically resolve within 2 weeks. It’s normal for minor swelling or bruising to last up to two weeks.

Dermal fillers may not be suitable for everyone. People with severe allergies, autoimmune disorders, or bleeding disorders should avoid fillers. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals are also advised to avoid treatment. Additionally, anyone with a recent skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area should wait until it is fully healed.
